2026 marks the official opening of the site to the public, following several months of renovation.
With redesigned spaces, new infrastructure and a multidisciplinary programme, La Cité du Cinéma now stands as a leading hub for event excellence and cultural innovation at the heart of Greater Paris.
Located in Saint-Denis within a heritage site shaped by a rich industrial and cinematic history, La Cité du Cinéma is reinventing itself as a vibrant cultural destination, open to all.
MORE ABOUT THIS HISTORIC VENUE
In 2026, La Cité du Cinéma enters a new dimension. It becomes a true crossroads for creators, companies and the general public, with the ambition to become a lasting part of the territory’s daily life.
Residents of Saint-Denis and Greater Paris, occasional visitors, young audiences, schools, families, artists, professionals and businesses, La Cité du Cinéma is designed as an open, inclusive and accessible destination, conceived as much as a place to live as a place for events.
Driven by strong values of creativity, imagination, celebration and unity, collective experience lies at the heart of the project. The renovated spaces now offer a capacity of up to 6,000 people, providing an exceptional setting for ambitious events and innovative formats.
Beyond its cultural and event programming, La Cité du Cinéma also features welcoming social spaces, including a food court open to all, further embedding the venue in the everyday life of the local community and the wider metropolitan area.
From 2026, La Cité du Cinéma’s programme is structured around four complementary pillars, Cinema, Performing Arts, Music and Media, designed to support emerging talent and engage a wide range of audiences.
All programmes are developed with particular attention to audiences who are traditionally underserved, through a diversity of formats, a plurality of voices and backgrounds, accessible pricing, and an inclusive approach.
La Cité du Cinéma is a cultural icon, bridging heritage and the future.
Through the ambitious project we are developing, it is set to become a leading destination for the cultural and creative industries. Our ambition is to make it a space where all forms of imagination can be expressed, a true hub for the influence and vitality of pop culture.
Saint-Denis is home to two cathedrals: the Basilica, a symbol of the past we preserve, and La Cité du Cinéma, a symbol of the future we are building together.
With this new chapter, La Cité du Cinéma fully embraces its promise: to be a vibrant place for connection, knowledge-sharing and innovation, where heritage meets creation, and where imagination is celebrated every day.
